Close to Fox Glacier Township in Southern New Zealand is a Lake Matheson. I’ve seen on postcards and tourism brochures some stunning views taken of this lake towards the mountains when the weather is calm and the water like a mirror. It’s very small compared to the many vast lakes I’ve seen, but incredibly picturesque! Fortunately the day my coach tour came here, we had clear skies and no wind! So I was able to appreciate and capture the beautiful views! The two main peaks visible are Mount Tasman (on the left) and Mount Cook (right) – the tallest mountain in New Zealand at 3754m.
